Memo-Garden is an ongoing project that aims to explore the ways in which the relationships between humans and plants are inscribed in the cultural narratives and practices of diverse localities. Taking the municipal garden of Nicosia and its plants as a starting point, its visitors and workers were invited to short interviews that sought to animate individual sensual associations to their familiar natural environment. Their narrations open up topographies made up of plant names, colors, smells and textures. These were recorded and re-introduced in the garden, using a number of neighboring trees as transmitters. The visiting audience was invited to listen, or search in its turn for personal connections.
